OPEN-INNOVATORS.ORG
Seminar Series June 11th, 2019
MORNING SESSION (8.00AM – 9.30AM)
Venue: A House, Rådmansgatan, Östermalmsgatan 26A, S -114 26 Stockholm
Theme: Circular Economy
The concept of Circular economy is easy to grasp, but difficult to implement. Moving towards an economy where the resources are not wasted but re-used requires major shifts in consumption patterns. The manufacturers, as well as the consumers of good and services, need to restructure their business and mental models. The 2030 agenda is driving the shifts in business models, but it is the collective consumer base whose mental models remain sticky and resistant to change. One way to help lift the barriers to positive change is to collaborate across silos, functions, industries, and geographies. Creating spaces for dialectical sharing of knowledge is crucial to driving change. Technology is and will continue to be a key player in facilitating that positive change towards a better, greener, and sustainable future.

AFTERNOON SESSION (14.00PM – 16.30PM)
Venue: A House, Rådmansgatan, Östermalmsgatan 26A, S -114 26 Stockholm
Theme: eCommerce and future cities
According to the United Nations, by the year 2050, 68% of the world’s population will be living in cities. This rapid urbanization in addition to climate change puts tremendous strain on infrastructure and the environment. To be sustainable, cities need to become smarter when it comes to transportation, energy and technology. Stockholm has set the goal of being the world’s smartest city by 2040. Our limitations are not the absence of great ideas, but how well residents, companies and public actors cooperate and communicate with each other.
